The Library and its heritage<\/h3>

The\u00a0College library <\/strong>is open to both college and external students<\/strong>.
\nIt includes numerous books on university subjects<\/strong>, an extensive collection of foreign literature<\/strong>, a vast collection of\u00a0Italian classics<\/strong>, a local history <\/strong>section, general and specialist encyclopaedias<\/strong>, and dictionaries and manuals<\/strong> for study purposes.<\/p>\n

It also contains a well-stocked section on the history of the Church and Christianity<\/strong>, including some rare titles.<\/p>\n

The library contains a total of over 11,000 books.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Also part of the library collection is a collection of\u00a0scientific journals <\/strong>(<\/strong>over 60 different titles) of cultural and didactic interest, and a section containing degree and doctorate theses by current and former students of the College.<\/p>\n

Discontinued periodicals have been collected in folders and are kept in a separate section, while more recent journals are kept in the library. The catalogue of the journals and magazines is available in both the University OPAC<\/strong><\/a> (Online Public Access Catalogue) and in the \u00a0ACNP<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Italian Periodicals Catalogue, with current subscriptions constantly being updated.<\/p>\n

The \u201cLex 24 Omnia\u201d juridical database is also available, with online access and updates in real time.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>

Donations and acquisitions<\/h3>

Many current and former students contribute to the library with book donations.<\/p>\n

Of note are the large donations from Professor Giuliana Rigobello (Italian and Latin literature and history of art), Professor Pasquale Scaramozzino (Political Sciences section), Professor Rosanna Garbarini (history of art) and Massimo Ghimmy (foreign literature).<\/p>\n

The library is a member of the University OPAC<\/a>, collective online catalogue of the University of Pavia libraries and various affiliated bodies throughout the province: the OPAC contains almost 6,000 titles, including the latest arrivals and the books of the Rigobello foundation.<\/p>\n

New books are purchased every year, and newly-published textbooks on university subjects as well as requests from the students themselves are taken into consideration during the purchasing process.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>
